Canada has 1000s of young Canadian doctors who have completed medical school at reputable universities in other countries. They have passed Canadian exams and are ready to come home to enter the final stage of training in Canada to become the licensed doctors we need.
Under Canadian Federal and Provincial laws, including human rights laws, they should have the same access to this required training as the students who have done medical school in Canadian universities. Instead, those who studied outside of Canada face systemic discrimination that block the route of the vast majority to the final step of their training, their knowledge and skills are lost to society, and millions of Canadians are left without a family doctor.
Tell our government a Canadian is a Canadian and it is time to end this discrimination.
