COVID 19 : SOCASMA calls on all Canadians who have studied medicine abroad to go and offer their services in support of the Canadian Health System

COVID 19 : You are currently in Canada and you are wondering what to do next? Go and offer your services to your local hospital, residency program, health authority, or other decision makers. You don’t get any positive response? Go and see your Provincial Member of Parliament and get him or her to help you get a residency placement, job or other. These times are unprecedented. The Canadian Health System will get challenged like it has never been challenged. Normally it should be more than receptive to your offer to help. But don’t short sell yourself! You’ve worked hard to get to where you are and this needs to be recognized by any future employer and compensated fairly, especially given the sacrifices and risks involved.
